NaNoWriMo 2016 – Day Six

Good morning.

9:19am – I managed to get to 9086 words last night before heading to bed. I’m now up to 9584 but now have to get ready for work.

5 – Finished work. Now time to head up to the boyfriend’s place, so not sure how much I’ll get done.

11pm – Ended up with 10017 words and now heading for bed cuz I’m seriously tired.

Good night.

NaNoWriMo 2016 – Day Four & Five

Day Four:

Worked until four o’clock then headed out for dinner with the boyfriend in the city and stayed in the city too but was damn tired near the end of the night so I was half asleep and trying to write. Luckily with his help I made it to 6727 words.

——————-
Day Five:

Had a busy day today too. Went and had breakfast with the boyfriend in the city, went to a write-in and managed to get quite a few words out, got home then went out to dinner. Plus still going at 10:49pm at currently 8551 words, but that does include parts for other random to-be stories that I wrote snippets of on the train ride home.

NaNoWriMo 2016 – Day Three

Good morning.

Had quite a busy day today with work and errands to run so I didn’t really pay attention to what time it was etc.

However, by midnight I did have 5296 words by the day which was good.

We’ll see how much writing I get done tomorrow as I have work then am staying overnight in the city with my boyfriend. Then a busy Saturday too.

Good luck to all of those of you who are joint in with NaNo 2016.

Good night.

NaNoWriMo 2016 – Day Two

Good morning.

12:40pm – Didn’t bring my laptop with me to work today, but handwrote in my notebook during my lunch break, bringing me to 2016 words.

7:40pm – Just finished dinner. Now to pop on some music and see how many words I can do tonight. May even do a word war to bump it up a bit.

8:45pm – Have just finished procrastinating on Facebook instead of actually writing. Time to get to it!

9:38pm – Just did a couple of word sprints with the NaNo website’s word war timer. Currently on 2605 words. Hoping to hit today’s word count aim before going to bed as I have an early start at work tomorrow. Might have a caramel latte sachet then another word war.

10:32pm – Didn’t do another word war, but I’m feeling demotivated so I’m writing standing up now. However a shout out to my friend Chantelle who says she’s my #1 fan and that she genuinely likes it so far 🙂 You get a cookie

12:01am – Finally smashed out those words and ended the day on 4064 words. For a bit there, I thought that I wasn’t going to make it. However I have to be up in 6.5 hours for work so I’m off to bed.

Goodnight.

NaNoWriMo 2016 – Day One

This year I am once again doing NaNoWriMo. I have also decided to do a journal sort of thing to share my thoughts with you as I go, this month.

The way I am counting the word is in Microsoft Word and I’m counting words I wrote then essentially rewrote too, plus when I rephrase something. I’m just putting a line through and colouring it red that way it still counts the words but I know that it isn’t gonna go there in the final draft. You never know, I could always change my mind and go back to the original way I wrote it.

Good morning.

12am-1am – Managed to smash out 505 words on my laptop on my new desk.

10:07am – I am very much over today already. Ready for bed already. However I am now up to 933 words. Over halfway!

10:15am – Yay! Nearly done for the day. 1002 words. Ugh, is today over yet? Early wake up was a bad idea.

10:20am – 1068 words! But now time for work. Hopefully I can smash out the other words I need after work.

1:36pm – 1317 words with 10mins of my lunch break left. Time to grab a brownie for later tonight. Hoping to reach above the daily goal for today.

9:16pm – Now up to 1480 words while eating my seriously delicious brownie 🙂

10:04pm – 1684 words written out of the 1667 I needed for today to be on track. Yay. Now to keep going as I won’t be able to write this Friday.

10:52pm – Doing research while listening to my playlist for this story. Prob gonna get a bit creeped out though. Lindsey Stirling and Escala and 2CELLOS are starting to become part of my day to day life by now too thanks to my playlist.

11:20pm – Time for bed. Oh my goodness. 1819 words is plenty for tonight. Early start at work tomorrow.

Goodnight.

The YA Chronicles Box – Gemina

Guess what I got in the post today!

In case you can’t already tell, I received a YA Chronicles box that I opened before I even got back to the car.

Inside the box was:

– “Gemina” which is Book 2 in the Illuminae Files series by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. Plus it’s signed!

– a letter from Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

– there was a bookmark from the publishers  along with the bookmark I purchased too

– also an author poster from the publishers

– a “Gemina” tote bag custom designed by Evie Seo

– an Illuminae microfibre pouch custom designed by TheBookHangover (which is a RedBubble store)

– plus a Heimdall Ship Schematic Print

Not a bad way to kick off the week on a Monday afternoon, if I do say so myself.

Looking forward to marathon reading the book duo when I can!

2016 August Book Haul

I have now had to put a book buying ban on myself for at least the rest of the month because of how much I spent on books today. However, these are the books that I bought this entire month.

– The Harry Potter box set (because I apparently don’t have enough copies). This set has Hogwarts on the spines to create a picture when they’re sat all together in order.

– Pokemon Deluxe Essential Handbook. I figured that if I read it and didn’t like it etc then I could give it to my brother.

– Hunger Games Luxury Edition Boxset by Suzanne Collins. I have wanted this for as long as it’s been out and I finally managed to get them!

– Suicide Squad, Vol. 1: Kicked in the Teeth by Adam Glass. This one’s a graphic novel but I thought I’d have a quick read before passing it to a friend.

– The Half Bad series by Sally Green: Half Bad (#1), Half Wild (#2), Half Lost (#3). Yes, I did but all three at the one store in the same transaction.

– The Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series by Ransom Riggs: Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children (#1), Hollow City (#2), Library of Souls (#3). This was over more than one day, but I’m actually pretty excited to start this series and I’ve heard really good things.

– A box set of The Lord of the Rings series by J. R. R. Tolkien: The Fellowship of the Ring (#1), The Twin Towers (#2), The Retun of the King (#3), The Hobbit. Again, one copy of each is apparently not enough.

– On The Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher. Wanted this one since I found out it existed! Excited to start this one!

– The Bourne Identity (Jason Bourne #1) by Robert Ludlum. I’ve seen the movies and really like them and I figured I could pass it to Dad if the novel wasn’t quite for me.

– A Whole New World (Twisted Tales #1) by Liz Braswell. Saw this in the store and it went straight into my buying pile as the synopsis sounded awesome.

– Queen of Hearts (Queen of Hearts #1) by Colleen Oakes. Was in a Disney phase, enough said.

– The Witch’s Kiss (The Witch’s Kiss #1) by Katharine Corr. Again, Disney phase speaking.

– The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. This one’s been floating around my TBR list a little so I saw it in the store and thought I’d give it a look.

– The Disney Book by DK Publishing. More Disney phase but this one was pointed out by a friend in the store.
